Even though we still have lots to do before we’re ready to leave, last week we managed to drive down to southwestern Virginia for a long weekend at the Floyd folk festival. We went with some friends that Jonathan knows through work, and we had a fantastic time — three days of kick-ass music and dancing in the lush Virginia hills, lots of adorable children running around, naps on lawns to the sounds of banjo picking, and Becky’s first time sleeping in a tent in this decade. (Good preparation for the camping we’re planning on doing in New Zealand!)
Sharon caught this picture of us lazing around towards the end of the festival, and it pretty well sums up the weekend. And the Blue Ridge mountains are just beautiful.
